We have served over 4,000 young
hockey players since 1999. Our programs have been offered in Cobourg, Port Hope, Ennismore,
Havelock, Bewdley, Lakefield, Little Britain, Omemee, Millbrook, Grafton, Hastings and Peterborough.
Our commitment is to provide quality hockey programs aimed at helping hockey
players achieve hockey excellence.
Our Staff
Kawartha Hockey Centre was founded in 1999 and is led by Kevin M. Duguay, a certified
hockey coach ( since 1982 ), who has coached teams ranging from Junior ‘B', Girls
Competitive to Tyke House League. Mr. Duguay has designed and led several youth
hockey camps. He also brings a wealth of sport experience as a former Parks and
Recreation Director, an executive volunteer with provincial and national sport
organizations ,and as an active community volunteer.
Other Centre personnel are all currently coaching , playing or refereeing
the sport of hockey. We also employ certified fitness trainers.
Our Philosophy
We recognize the need for fun, quality based and affordable hockey instructional
programs for young hockey players. We emphasize skill development and enjoyment
of sport.The Centre is committed to helping hockey players, both young and old,
achieve hockey excellence.

- FUNfirst Hockey A program designed to offer hockey instruction for beginner hockey players (boys and girls) ages 4 to 7. Four one hour on-ice instructional sessions Sunday evenings in September, Kinsmen Arena, Peterborough.

Basics Program Program offered to house league players, Novice to Atom
(boys and girls). Focusing on skating, puck control, passing and shooting. Four 1 hour sessions. September, Sunday evenings, Kinsmen Arena, Peterborough.

Basics Plus Program Program designed for Pee Wee aged house-league
players (boys and girls), focusing on skating, puck control, shooting, passing

Contact Clinic
A two hour clinic held annually in mid-September, Ennismore Arena, designed to help hockey players with the fundamentals of 'safe'

- Fall Women's
Hockey Lessons This program is offered to females ages 18 and over, Sunday evenings, September, Kinsmen Arena, Peterborough.
Four, 1 hour instruction sessions aimed at providing basic hockey skills.
- Fall-Winter Women's
Hockey Lessons This program will be offered from mid October to mid December 2009 and from mid January to mid March 2010. 18 Lessons aimed at improving participants hockey skills (skating, puck control, passing, shooting & game situations).
