Youth Hockey Programs
Summer 2008 Hockey Skills Program - 7 week program |
Kawartha Hockey Centre is offering a Summer 2008 Hockey Skills Program, at the Kinsmen Arena (Peterborough) Sundays 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. for Tyke to Atom aged house-league players (boys and girls). Players must have hockey and/or skating experience to be eligible to enroll.
Each week will focus on a specific hockey skill including the following:
- skating (transition, agility and quickness)
- puck-control
- passing
- shooting
- play-making
The programs will emphasize basic hockey skills. We provide a 1 to 5 instructor to participant ratio.
The program will require a minimum of 12 participants, and will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants, plus 2 goaltenders. Goalie instruction is available.
Registration deadline is May 16, 2008.

FUNfirst Hockey (9th Annual) is offered to
beginner hockey players, ages 5 to 7, boys and girls. Four 1 hour on-ice sessions.
FUNfirst Hockey programs features the following:
- Hockey skill fundamentals
- FUN on-ice activities
- 1 to 5 instructor to player ratio
- Participant certificate
- 3 hours of on-ice instruction
- hockey information handouts for parents
Registration deadline: August 22, 2008
Registration is limited to 30 participants per program.

 Our 9th Annual program! Hockey Basics Plus is offered to Pee Wee - Bantam house league and tier players (boys and girls)

 Kawartha
Hockey Centre can conduct your team practices, or run a specilized practice designed
to meet your hockey requirements. We have worked with 30 teams and 15 hockey associations
since the 2001/02 season. See photo album for highlights.
Fee
$7.00 per player per hour of practice
Your team would arrange
for the ice time , and Centre staff would lead the team practice. Excellent results...a
great resource.

We will offer our popular "Body-Contact" clinic in mid-September.
The program is designed for youth hockey players (boys & girls) atom and peewee ages, and focuses on the safe "how-to's" of body contact hockey
